Faisal Mosque is a huge architecture which is true representation of Islamic art and style of construction. It was completed in 1986 while till 1993 it was the largest mosque of the world whereas, now it is forth largest. Faisal Mosque is located at northeast part of Islamabad and surrounded by greenish Margallah Hills. The mosque is also a symbol of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and is constructed there by Saudi government. The white colored Faisal Mosque covers a total area of 5000 Sq meters.

The building and the looks of Faisal Mosque are so charismatic that it literally invites you to reach there to have a closer view to overcome your curiosity. While standing in front of the mosque one feels the hugeness of this great construction. The most attractive part of the mosque is the main hall which is in a square shape and also is so big that ten thousand people can pray there at once. Some elegant and classic calligraphic work can be seen around the walls of the hall. You will be surprised to see that this hall has no pillar in structure. This hall has courtyard around three sides. The floor of the courtyard is made of beautiful marble tiles which hardly get heated even during the hot summer. This mosque has three floors and more than 1Lac people can offer pray at a time.

This holy place remains crowded throughout the year and specially in the month of Ramadan when citizens of Islamabad and surroundings come for prayers.
