Danyore Suspension Bridge Gilgit

No doubt the world’s highest paved road which is known as Karakorum Highway is among the modern wonders of the world and great magnetic attraction for its beauty and elegance, passes through a beautiful and green lush landscape of village namely Danyore, which is also a Tehsil in district Gilgit in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, which comprises green fields and  fresh Poplar trees. The Danyore is located across the river Gilgit in the country side of regional capital of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Danyor, a very attractive and beautiful place in Gilgit-Baltistan, which receives a great number of visitors from  all over the world and Pakistan also, lies about 10 km in Gilgit district across the Gilgit River. Its population is about 25000.

Moreover, if we want to give Danyor a tourism importance, then it will help us by its very beautiful and pretty places, among which the Shrine of Shah Sultan Arif which is located above the Danyor tunnel. It is a place worth of respect by the surrounding population where the people come to pay their homage frequently.

Moreover, a worth seeing site in Danyor is rock inscriptions, in the Chikas locality where many a visitors visit including foreign countries and Pakistan also as it is an ancient site having great historical importance. The tourists from all over the world come to see Danyore Suspension Bridge, which is a remarkable for its own importance in the region. 

This bridge is used to connect the Danyore to the Karakorum University across the River Hunza. But nowadays only pedestrians are allowed to pass through and vehicles are not allowed to go through by some  unknown reason. Alternatively, a two way concrete bridge has also been built which started functioning in 2013. Before the suspension bridge, a boat was used which was locally called Jaloo, so to avoid difficulty by travelling by boat, in 1960s, the suspension bridge was constructed to ease the crossing of river.

The magnetic attraction of beauty of Danyore for visitors does not end here because there is another worth seeing site namely, Chinese Cemetry, Gilgit, which is visited by tourists in a great number from different part of the world and Pakistan also. This place is a Chinese Graveyard, which  is the last resting place of those Chinese workers and engineers who lost their lives during the construction of Karakorum Highway in Pakistan during 1960s and 1970s.
